Quake is best described in one simple word: analogue & hardware freaks to the core. This Belgium based enigmatic duo consists of an electronic music producer and a mixing/recording engineer. Their message is strong, however their output abruptly came to a halt due to a space-time quantum displacement, separating the duo lightyears from each other.

10 lightyears have passed since their last broadcast was transmitted... However more recent, something was picked up by our scanners and decoded with a 10% pitch increase, due to gravitational waves. This is what we found...

The opening track ‘Andromeda’ has a percussion heavy, melancholic Detroit feel, whilst melodic particles are scattered througout the vast nebula at light speed.

‘Paranoia’ is a displaced expression of total isolation. It’s haunting groove is accentuating the polyrhythmic madness to give it just that typical unsettling ‘Quake’ sound. Eerie!

‘Seismic Alpha’ is brutally minimalistic and simple, letting the hardware rip through whatever the amount of randomness it could handle. Plenty of distortion & electronic static will finish the job.

Overall, this EP is a different, almost jazzy approach to techno that seems to be coming at the right time as the pure, droning Berlin techno seems to be at that crossroad where it needs to reinvent itself. We hope that this is exactly what you might be looking for �
